Franklin Fire in Malibu rages on
Firefighters are working to control a wildfire in Malibu near Pepperdine University that is quickly tearing through Southern California’s coastline. The so-called Franklin Fire started late Monday and has been moving quickly, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds. As of Wednesday morning, it had burned nearly 4,000 acres, consuming homes and vehicles in its path and causing widespread power outages. More than 18,000 people and 8,000 homes and businesses in central and eastern Malibu are under evacuation orders or warnings. The fire is 7% contained.
