Winter Storm Blair hits US, Storm Cora on its way
Millions of Americans have been impacted by the first winter storm of the year, and another storm is on its way. Winter Storm Blair hit Kansas and Missouri on Saturday before moving east to the coast on Sunday and Monday, bringing a combination of snow (over a foot in some areas), ice and plunging temperatures. The storm has been disruptive, causing power outages for hundreds of thousands of residents and businesses, shutting down roadways and delaying flights.
As the Plains, Ohio Valley and Middle Atlantic states recover from Winter Storm Blair, Winter Storm Cora is poised to bring snow, sleet and freezing rain to the South before moving northeast. The second storm is expected to form over Texas in the coming days, and storm watches are in effect there as well as Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
